My folks owned a general store in northern California in the 60s. We sold cigarettes at $.20 for regulars and $.21 for filters. Below is a screen shot of the prices at my brother from another mother's convenience store with the price for regular Marlboros at $11.00 + tax :

The price of shipping has soared over 400% in the last month. The below chart from King World News shows just how bad it is in just over a month:
